Billy Nobel grew up in Baltimore and went to college in Pittsburgh, where he studied piano performance and conducting at Carnegie Mellon University. A few years after graduating, he made his way to Nashville. Since moving there he has been involved with session work, live playing and touring as both a keyboard player and harmony singer. Currently he is playing keyboards and singing harmony vocals for Tim McGraw.
