Yes you can. It will work just fine. 

The InterBass and InterBlock 45 have a built-in switchable cab-sim and full service guitar preamp so you might get better results with them.

If you have the MB-45, an external cab-sim or software plug-in will warm up the sound if you are playing electric guitar.
