It's light and loud, so it must be a Quilter! The neo speaker and light-ply construction keep the weight down to 19.5 pounds (8.8 kg) while handling the full power of our 200W Block series. The semi-open back construction provides a chesty bass response and all-around sound dispersion, while the HD-12 speaker's warm clean midrange and well-controlled high frequency response make it compatible with most any musical style. The BlockDock mounting compartment accepts both the 100 and 200 series amp heads.
I have played music since the mid 60s and I own a Mach 2 Combo HD and wanted something else to be addition to a series of features provided on the combo. This followed a Tone Block 201 for travelling purposes but finally considered a 202 for its power, tonality, punch and ease of use! I could use the Mach 2 extension but changed my mind after trying the Block Dock at a Guitar show. It is the perfect march in my humble opinion for both the 201 and 202, locks firmly at the back and allows easy dialing on stage and gives me all the clean sounds/bottom ends I need to scare "the drummer and bass player" if they wish to play "volume wars" lol. I play Funk, Jazz, Latin, Soul, Blues, Soca, Zouk, Afro Beat, Soukouss and other and it allows me to "Speak" the language the audience loves at all times! I love this little baby without any slight reservation!!
I originally bought a Frontliner 2x8 for my TB202. It sounded horrible to me. I contacted Quilter and we discussed various reasons and options. They were very gracious and helpful. I opted for the BlockDock 12HD. World of difference, for me. I know others love the Frontliner and I will respect their opinions. The BD12HD is perfect for me. Plenty of rounded bass and mids and highs that are pleasing to the ears and not harsh. With the 200w I never feel any concern about blowing it. And the whole package is very light that even I, an old man, do not have any trouble picking it up. Amazing box.
