Artist Spotlight - Des Vega

Hi! I'm Des Vega, originally from southern New Jersey but have been in Florida for many years. I have always had a very broad musical taste, and I'd like to say it shines through in my playing. I like playing rhythm or lead, to be upfront or lay back, to shred or to play slide — as long as I get to play guitar. 

Since graduating from the University of Tampa, I have played with several groups including Turn-A (metal/prog) and Success Revenge (psychedelic, bluesy alt rock) with whom I played around the Tampa Bay area and recorded an EP. I also picked up an interest in electronics, which led to designing and building my own line of pedals for local musicians as well as some out-of-state. I still make them under the name Calandra Electronics.

Since 2022 I have been working with Saint Tone who has 18+ albums and thousands of shows' worth of experience. Joining this band has given me the opportunities to play some exciting high-profile shows in the Tampa Bay area as well as abroad — we just finished our Spring 2025 tour of England with a Las Vegas showcase coming up. Later this year you might find us on a second tour leg in England as well as appearances across the US and in Japan. We just released a single on May 3 called "Breaking All The Rules" and more songs are coming out this year — about every 6 weeks. My own music will be out soon when the time comes.
